The Bank Street Arts studios are housed within a Grade II listed Georgian town house right in the middle of the city centre, only a stones throw away from Sheffield Cathedral and Castlegate. We currently have twenty-six studios, which are occupied by a diverse range of people and organisations including The Poetry Business, Sensoria, Koni Music, Arts on the Run and Sheffield Modernists Society as well as painters, photographers, games designs and The Jewellery Business. We have studios to suit every artistic practice and budget including private studios and offices and shared spaces too.
Taking a studio at Bank Street Arts means that you’ll become a member of the charity, which gives you a range of benefits (more info can be found here). You’ll get twenty-four hour access to your studio and the communal areas including brew making facilities, showers and our tucked away courtyard. We ask for a deposit equal to one months rent plus a key deposit both of which are returnable at the end of your lease. Utilities are included in the monthly rental cost and yes, this does including internet access. The rental fee is subject to an annual rent review, there are no additional fees and we only ask for a thirty-day notice period.
If you would like to apply for a studio or be added to our waiting list you can complete and fire off the application form here and if you have any question you can always email our Centre Manager, Tom at, firstname.lastname@example.org.
What’s available now?
We’ve recently converted several spaces to increase our studio provision enabling us to house more artists and businesses. With the addition of the new spaces we now have five studios of varying size available for rental located through throughout the building, one of which is street facing and directly off from the main gallery.
