Abi is a self-taught embroiderer and fabric artist working mainly with recycled materials. Her work ranges from small embroideries to large banners, prefabricated or commissioned.
The natural world and our connection to it has always has a strong influence on Abi’s life and art; trees and birds will be found in most of her creations.
Abi has been a freelance artist and creative practitioner for over a decade, running craft workshops in and with schools, council departments, festivals, and community groups.
“My goal as an artist and as a workshop teacher is to inspire new thinking and encourage people to realise their own potential and creativity. I work to see the extraordinary in the ordinary, and to tease hidden stories to light.”
