With a remit to explore the concept of physics-as-culture, new BSA resident Mark Wrigley aims to show how physics is as much at home in a gallery or arts setting as in a laboratory. As Physicist in Residence, Mark will demonstrate the similarities in the creative processes between science and the arts and, as someone with a particular interest in photography and photonics, show how artists use the science of light. He will also explore how physics underpins our culture, looking at the ways in which concepts in physics enter mainstream thinking.

Mark is a councillor and outreach champion at the Institute of Physics.
