Fictional Human and Real Robot: Sharing Spaces with Robots

Fictional Human and Real Robot: Sharing Spaces with Robots

17th – 25th November

An exhibition of images that explores the notion of robotics in our everyday lives.

In a future where intelligent androids are fully integrated with everyday life, how do we distinguish ourselves as human? As part of Being Human Festival 2016 Bank Street Arts will host an exhibition of images of present and future robots that are or will be integrated into daily human life.

This exhibition accompanies a display of the latest work in robot, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality technology at Sheffield Hallam University. This will be followed by a scriptwriting workshop and fiction filmmaking session for visitors to express their response to the imminent reality of robot citizens becoming part of our everyday lives, 12pm Saturday 19th and 12pm Sunday 20th respectively. The resulting film will be screened on Wednesday 23rd from 5pm at Sheffield Hallam University, followed by an informal discussion.
