Join us for the UK’s biggest open studio event outside London.

Visitors are invited to drop in, chat to artists, peruse their open studios,  and attend demonstrations by guest artists.

Our Open Up kicks off with a night of improvisational comedy led by local comic Joe Thompson featuring members of Sturike, The Antics, and Crime Scene Improvisation. Find out more about this free performance here.

Our studio holders include painters Annette Griffiths, Phil Archer, Kate Pickin, and Alan Tsang, illustrator Ed Syder, Bank Street Framing, and various jewellers at the Jewellery Business.

This year’s guest artists – who will be showing & demonstrating work throughout the festival – include Hobbit-inspired Jay Johnstone framed by Bank Street Framing, contemporary jeweller Amy Stringer, block printers  The Blackfish Press, painter Catherine Higham, textile maker Giedre Sadauskaite, lino cutters/screen printers The Owlery, video artist Tom Noonan, and abstract sculptor/photographer Tony Maj.

Our Tea Emporium (just off the atrium) will be open throughout Open Up, serving sandwiches, baked potatoes, snacks, and hot and cold drinks.
