For our 2015 members’ exhibition, BSA residents Chris Graham
and Bryan Eccleshall
produced Sans Terre/+
, a complex and disorienting installation based on Théodore Géricault’s painting The Raft of the Medusa
that offered a dense re-thinking of the current refugee crisis and the various Gulf Wars that have precipitated it. In Summer 2016, Bryan and Chris launched Collateral Damage
, a set of twenty-four books that began as a documentation of the show. Using a self-designed publication based on an arms fair brochure mixed with photographs of the installation as a base, Chris and Bryan intervened on pretty much all the pages, making each book unique.
The Collateral Damage
books are now available to buy, either online or directly from Bank Street Arts. If you’d like to take a closer look, the books are currently on display in our atrium space, where you’ll also find an installation that Chris is developing throughout autumn and winter
. If you buy online, we’ll select one of the books for you.
Each book is £25 and comes with a handmade bookmark.
